In 2003 I gifted a restored 1404 to my brother. The fan has found it's way back to me. The only thing missing is pinstriping which I would like to try this winter. Does anyone have good photos of a 1404 with the pinstripes? I do not care about being exact, I'll do what looks good to me, but I would like to see the locations. Thanks, MR

Mike, this is a 14040 which should be the same as the 1404. Pinstripe on other side of trunnion ends 1/4" below the slot where the wing nut moves. Both wing screws on this fan are painted black. The smaller one is brass, larger is steel or iron. Other similar models have a mix or match of brass wingscrews or the small one in iron and large in brass. I think you'll see the large on in polished brass most of the time and not painted. Attached Image (viewed 683 times): Last edited on Mon Nov 2nd, 2009 07:12 pm by Steve Stephens |
