Paul,The fan in question is a Zephyr don't you have a counter model like it ? Isn't the movie the 7ups ? Looks like Roy Schider in that picture.Could be the French Connection though,I'm not really too sure.

Hey Paul, you remember the one I saw, don't you? :D You said it was a Signal, as opposed to a Zephyr but I forget why....

 

Here it is... in the local Renninger's snack bar. I spoke to the elderly lady to whom it belonged and she basically said..... HANDS OFF! :violin:

tom newcity is correct about the french connection..... and nicholas, right you are! it is a edgar ward made 'zephyr' tagged and sold under the Signal brand. from what i can find, only available via Signal during 1937. mine shown below is a 28" version and probably the best air mover i own. really amazing.
