Can anyone provide me with an approximate manufacture date for a GE Vortalex FM10V41.  This is a blue-gray fan with red badge.  I was guessing it was made about 1950.  I don't normally pick these up, but this one is particularly nice.  Any help would be appreciated.

Robert,
I'm looking in Chris Mays' paper on GEs. It looks like your fan is a 1949 model. The paper doesn't mention the 10" but the 12" desk fan is a FM12V41. In 1950 the 12" model was a FM12V43 and the cage was now chrome plated. If your cage is painted I'd say it's a 1949.

Thanks for the info.  This one does, indeed, have a painted cage.
