Now that Fan Fair is in the rearview mirror, I'm betting that a lot of us are feeling melancholy. Well, perk up, because in just a little over two months we will be having the first ever Regional at the Museum meet. If you think you will be attending, let us know a bit in advance if you can. Call, write, email, or PM me. I have Rick Hill, Rick Powell, Jim K, George, and Mike penciled in. I still can't believe Greg won't cancel vacation plans to attend....

Kim from the chatter I heard at Fan Fair the majority of the Fandango 2 hour gang will be there as well as several more.  Are you going to publish an agenda  so we can gauge arrival and departure times?

The agenda is Fans, Fans, and more Fans. We will welcome early arrivals on Thursday the 21st. We have gotten a larger tent (40x60) and will have tables ready for you to showcase your fans. The tent will have lights. The museum will be open for your enjoyment and the shop is available for anyone wanting to work on their fan(s). We'll open both days at 8:00am and will have coffee and pastries for your enjoyment. There will be other liquid refreshments available or bring your own. Security will be provided on Thurs/Friday night. The advertising show will be going on at the Boone County Fair grounds in Lebanon, Ind. those same days, plus Sunday. There are restaurants and hotels on Michigan Road (US 421), which is about a half mile from Fanimation. I'll post more later. We are looking forward to seeing everyone......

I already told my boss I'm taking off Friday the 22nd. I'm hoping to see a particular feather displayed in all it's restored glory. 😉  It's taken a year, but I can't wait to tour the museum. See you all there. 👍

We are just a few weeks away from the first Meet at the Museum. Several of you have sent me your RSVP.... If you are planning on attending, shoot me a PM, phone call, or email so I can figure if we will need more of anything, like tables or chairs, coffee, water, cough syrup etc.... Everyone is invited and even Emerson collectors will be welcomed.....I still can't believe Greg Maurer is choosing Italy over Zionsville.....

Hey Jim. George lives close enough if they don't let him show up, he'll aim all the Juniors in the museums direction and blow the tent over! 🌪    I just realized Indiana is the home of two V.P.'s now that you mentioned it.

I just got everything booked (flight, hotel, and rental car) today. Dad and I will be there. It's right after my birthday, so it'll be a nice trip to celebrate. Can't wait to see all the additions to the museum since I was last there in 2014 (at that time, the 2nd level of the museum was just being set up, and now it has working ceiling fans and memorabilia)! :)
See everyone on the 22nd! :)

Gary Buchanan and Jerry Ware said they are bringing their significant others. I can't advise on others, but Carlton is bringing his two kids....Chad and Jeter.

The easiest  and closest hotel to get to is the Holiday Inn Express. It is less than 1 mile from the Museum. It's at 9797 Michigan Road 888-465-4329     Red Roof Inn is just a couple of blocks south at 96th and Michigan, behind McDonalds. 9520 Valparaiso Ct. 866-429-5787.. Those are the two I stayed at when visiting and doing work at Fanimation a couple of years ago.

All of the hotels on the flyer are within 1-2 miles of Fanimation. Also on Michigan Road are all sorts of eateries, ranging from Applebies, Outback, Olive Garden, Stacked Pickle, El Rodeo etc.  A couple of micro breweries close by too. There are also Burger King, McD's, Subway, Taco Bell, KFC, etc. There are a myriad of restaurants and bars in Zionsville, just a mile to the west of Fanimation.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. It's just four weeks away..........

I just heard that the Holiday Inn Express on Michigan Rd is filled up for the 22nd and 23rd of September. If the other hotels on Michigan Road are full, the Holiday Inn Express in Whitestown has rooms available. This is right off exit 130 on I-65 and is 6 miles west of Fanimation and a very easy drive to get to the Museum. The address for the hotel is 6064 South Main St., Whitestown, In 46075 phone 317-769-0932. If you plan on coming to the Meet at the Museum and need a hotel, there is the Antique Advertising Show, along with another Antique Show being held in Lebanon, Indiana that same weekend. Just FYI....Also, if you haven't done so, please let us know you are planning on attending. See you in a couple of weeks. Don't forget Brian Kurt's meet in Texas this weekend, and the following week in Downington, Pa.

The doors are open at noon on Thursday Sept 21 and won't close until the last person leaves. Friday and Saturday, the doors open at 8:00 am and again won't close until the last person leaves....

We are staying at the Marriott Indianapolis Carmel... it's about 10-15 min away from Fanimation, but they've just remodeled. I'm not sure what the rate is, as I let Dad book it (I usually only take care of the rental car in my travel plans). The hotel address is 3645 River Crossing Pkwy., Indianapolis, IN, 46240. Phone number there is (317)-705-0000 if anyone is looking for a hotel to stay at. Again, 10-15 mins away from Fanimation, in Carmel. Just FYI for anyone looking for a hotel, that's where we are staying. :)

Whitestown and Carmel are about six miles from Zionsville in a straight line. Whitestown is to the west and Carmel is to the east. Here are some directions....

If coming in from the northwest, on I-65, get off at exit 130 and follow Whitestown Pkwy east six miles to Zionsville. At the 2nd light in town (Main and Zionsville Rd) turn right (south) to the next light, which is 106th St. Turn left (east) and go to stop sign. This is Bennett Pkwy. Turn left and Fanimation is the 2nd building on right. Signs will be posted.

If coming in from the Northeast on I-69 or US 31, take 465 west to exit 27 (US 421...also called Michigan Road) turn right (north onto Michigan Road) and go about one mile to 106th St. Landmarks are a Ford Dealership on the NW corner. Turn left on 106th St and follow a few blocks to stop sign. This is Bennett Parkway. Turn right and Fanimation is the 2nd building on the right. Signs will be posted.

Same directions as above if coming in on I-74 or I70 from the east. Take I-465 north and west to exit 27......

For those coming in from the south on I65, stay on 65 thru Indy and get onto I465 at exit 123 and follow north to exit 23, which is 86th St. Turn right and follow a few blocks to Zionsville Road, Turn left onto Zionsville Rd. Landmarks are a Wendy's on the NW corner and an Arbys on the SW corner. Go north 2 miles to 106th St. Turn right at light and follow around to Stop sign. This is Bennett Pkwy. Turn left and Fanimation is 2nd building on right. Signs will be posted.

If coming in on I 70, I-74, US 36, US 37, follow 465 north to exit 23, which is 86th St. Follow the directions as above. Same for the Indpls International Airport...70 east to 465 north and follow to exit 23.....

If you haven't done so, please let us know you if you are attending. It's about ten days away and we are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Hey Kim. You said there will be a large tent. Do you have plenty of tent stakes or should we bring Emersons for dead weight to anchor it down?

We're one week away from the Museum Meet. The extended forecast is for mostly sunny weather with highs in the low 80's. Tent goes up on Wednesday so everything will be ready for the early arrivals on Thursday. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

When you turn into Fanimation from Bennett Pkwy., go straight to the back of the building and turn left. Follow along the back side of the building to the north field. Pull out onto the grass and you will be able to get close to the tent for unloading. Parking with be on the north side of the tent. Easy access to the Tent, Museum, and the Shop. Restrooms are located in the Lobby, on the main floor of the building.

Fans are being packed Kim. I'll bring some for sale, some for show including the water fan I found recently. We plan to skip for a few minutes and go see the sign show/sale, looks like a nice event as well.

Thanks for putting it together.

We will be raffling off a brand new Fanimation "Slinger II" ceiling fan in brushed nickel with black blades. This is a 72 inch fan and is one of our most popular. As always, all proceeds will go to the AFC Museum Fund.....The winning ticket will be drawn Saturday afternoon......
