I was searching through old posts last night and came across a gem.  Pictured below is a collar oscillator gearset. So the question is...
Did anyone post a detailed sketch of theses, or is one out there somewhere?
Does anyone know the person who made them and if he is still around?

I emailed the person who was named as making them and hope he replies. If not does anyone else have any to model?  Any info is appreciated. I've got all the tools to make them now but a gear hob/cutter that fits. The biggest question is the gear pitch, and is the 12&16" stuff interchangeable?

Thanks!

I guess I should illaborate a little further on this.
I have a 16" collar oscillator and it was missing the link and the lower pinion gear. All it had was some broken pieces rattling around in there. I have already made a blank for the pinion gear that attaches to the link. I just need to cut the teeth. I've been buying gear cutting hobs but would like some input on what size I need. There are a ton of different sizes and I am shooting in the dark.

Also with the link missing I don't have anything to model.  I'd have to measure with the nose on the fan, but that's kind of impossible. So if anyone has a 16" collar oscillator they'd take apart to measure I'd be in your debt. I have a 12" to model, but with the different motor sizes I'm almost sure the links would be different sizes.

Anyhow I did get some offline responses and their seems to be interest in making these gear sets. I'm willing to make them and have all the tools to do it. Just need someone to measure the link. I know the lower pinion gear was permanently affixed by a through pin that would need to be destroyed to remove it and the lower pinion gear. I already have a few replacements made for that part. I'm sure no one wants to take their working fan apart to possible damage these potmetal gears. But if your fan is already broken what do you have to lose?  I'll send you a new pin to replace the old one. Again any help is appreciated:up:
