Recently I have had some member interest in producing special parts for their fans so I decided to give it a try.

The first request was for brass thumbscrews for the smaller 8"-10" Emerson non-oscillating fans.  The larger early Emerson non-oscillators, such as on my Emerson 1510, were made of cast brass.  The smaller fans as I understand and find on my 14644, were cast of steel and not made of brass.  So, I came up with a way to make them using 2 brass components, machining, brazing, more machining then polishing.  These thumbscrews have a 1/4" - 28 thread.  The result came out really good but involved more work that I figured.  Anyway, after making one set for my 14644 to "bling it up a bit"  I have 5 sets left to offer for $60.00 per set and $5.00 shipping.  I'm not sure if I will plan making any more of these due to the amount of work but am pleased with the final result.

The second new item is oscillating links (often missing) for Dayton fans.  I recently made a couple up for Jim Humphrey. The center to center distance of this link is around 2.580" and should fit model 267 and 367 Dayton fans and possibly 10" ones as well.  If I had water-jet or laser cutting equipment, I could do these a lesser price.  Anyway, due to lack of this type of equipment, I can offer these for $35.00 plus $5.00 Shipping.  I have 6 of these available at this time.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments,
Thanks, Jerry

Thanks Kevin and Mark.
Do you guys know if there are other small Emerson models, besides my 14644, which use these same thumbscrews?   :hammer:

Thanks again, Jerry

Nice work Jerry,
Other Emersons that used this small steel thumbscrew include the 15644, 11044, 19044 and the 19045.

Please anybody replacing these thumbscrews with the new brass ones save the originals for those of us who prefer the correct restorations.

Here's a link to what I posted regarding the oscillator links that Jerry made for the Daytons:

The links work great, and probably will work for some other Dayton oscillators.

Just an update on the small Emerson brass Thumbscrews that I started making.  The first six sets that I offered have been sold and I am now in the process of making a slightly larger order for future sale to members.  I ordered more brass material last week and have machined the remaining material that I had on hand.  I have 2 new orders pending and hope to have more thumbscrews completed in about 2 weeks.
Thanks for the support and positive comments from members.  It keeps me feeling appreciated and motivated to make new parts but, pulls me away from restoring my own fans.  Such a delightful delema!

Thanks, Jerry

After completing my 2nd run of the small Emerson brass Thumb Screws today,  I have 5 sets remaining if anyone is interested.

I hope everyone in our AFCA membership and their friends will be thinking about the safety and protection for our members living along the East Coast.  Remember them in your prayers!  Hopefully Irma will head out into the ocean!

FYI, I purchased a set of these from Jerry for my 14644 and they are outstanding. I'll post some pics later but right now the fan is apart because she was a little sad when I got her. Thanks Jerry and very good work.

Jamie
