Is it a 12" fan?
A lot of the mid teens through the 1920s, while had Oscillators with minor cosmetic differences, were cross compatible. Keep in mind that even removing a good Oscillator from a bad motor can risk breakage. So you rarely see the Oscillator parts by themselves. It may be a good idea to locate a non-runnong Westy stump(base, motor, and Oscillator) for cheap and go from there. Some members have some good info on how to transfer the parts safely. It just takes an immense amount of patience. Good luck on finding the part, Scott!
I'll keep an eye out for an Oscillator setup and let you know if I see one. :)
Westy stamped steel motor fans are, by a long shot, the worst fans to have to work on. I have two reworked so far(but only one is completed restoration), with one just reworked to function perfectly awaiting restoration.
Of the big three US fan makers of the era, Emerson and GE had vastly Superior Oscillator setups for ease of operation, reliability, smoothness of sweep, etc. Though, that said, a well restored Westy has a somewhat hypnotizing smoothness when tuned in perfectly.
I love the Westy I restored. Great fan,but I'd never recommend one as a starting fan to resto hobbies.
Here is the one I completed.
And this one(hodgepodge of several Westy models)mechanically and electrically ready to go, awaiting cosmetic work(blades have been repaired, polished and balanced since video - so make no whirring noise now).
