|Mine is the same size as yours, a 16" fan but I'm not parting out my fan because it works perfectly yet and is in excellent condition including the little chrome piece in the front of the base which is often times missing on these second generation PowerAire fans.
But what I was trying to say though is that because of the fragile nature of the Micarta Blades on these PowerAire fans they don't survive intact very often unless they are extremely well packed or someone is transporting the fan in person, because actually Micarta is a type of Bakelite and if you've ever seen a Bakelite radio and how easily those get broken, just imagine a fan blade made out of the same material and how fragile it would be. That's why I said its tough finding intact Micarta PowerAire fan blades on parts fans because parts fans are often not treated very well and often don't get as much care and attention as a working example does.
Also if the blade was damaged during shipping and it was a customer's fan, it sounds like your customer didn't do a proper job at packing the fan so the damage falls on them and not you or the shipping company, because they should of known better to pack the fan better than they did especially if it was a family heirloom!
If I were you I would charge your customer twice your original quote to repair the fan just for their packaging negligence leading to the damage of the fan in shipping which lead to you having to replace the original blade which will not be an easy task for you.
If they ask you why you're charging so much for the repair then tell them honestly that its due to the fact that you failed to package your fan sufficiently enough to keep it safe during shipping and because of that you damaged the blade beyond repair and you had to source another blade for the fan which took more time than it would of took to just do a simple rewire and relube of the fan.
I'm sorry but if a customer is that dimwitted about their fan then they shouldn't even be owning such a nice fan in the first place even if it is a family heirloom!
Good luck in your search for another blade for the fan, as when these fans are working properly they are excellent performers and extremely quiet runners.
