This fan is the first of the three variants offered in 1903. It has the four strut motor with full ribbed base. The rear motor cover has the indentions around the four acorn nuts. This is the fan that most collectors wanting a Pancake will look for. The second variant is a motor housing recast to three struts while still featuring a fully ribbed base. The third variant is a change to a half ribbed base. This is where one will start to see the appearance of the stamped brass hub blade and the eight wire pierced rear ring cage. The appearance of the wrapped drop ring cage starts to appear in 1904 models on around 25% of the models listed in the GE cake survey.
