westinghouse mobilaire motor needed.  Rate Topic

hello, I bought a Westinghouse model AM 17-1 mobilaire, the motor ran for a while then started smoking quite badly. unfortunately I had already bought it, not knowing. I need a replacement motor for this fan, good running condition, the paint can be chipped up as long as it runs without the smoke lol! thanks.

anybody have a motor? I am willing to pay, I really don't want to part it out but if I cant get it to run I have no choice, my space is limited.

check out what this guy did , should be very similar motor.  also look up Charles Tedrick he had a few motors for sale at one time for these ,Lawrence 
 that is my beast-- Charles hooked me up with a good motor for it!!

That motor looks very easy to rewind. It sounds like your coils are shot though. take it apart. Check with an ohm meter each coil
