ISO any fan by the Mimms Fan Company based out of Louisville, KY.  I believe they were manufactured in the '30's.   For obvious reasons, I want to get one for my husband; his father worked at the plant which was owned by his uncle.    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have only run across two of those fans in the past six years. I don't think they are too common. I did pass on one in a antique store in Ohio last year for $85. I guess you would consider it a desk pedestal version with a Bakelite blade. I couldn't even tell you the name of the store or what exit it was off of. Good luck!

I asked where you were, because there is an antique store that has a hassock fan for sale. It needs restoration though.

Hi, Fan People . . . . . .

I have rejoined the organization -- glad to be back.  Have had some rough times since my husband, Buzz Abshier, passed away but I'm getting caught up on things I wanted to do and getting back in the fold of the fan collectors is one of those things.

I bought a Mimms Hassock fan at one of Stan's fan meets several years ago and I love it.  I would like to get another one if possible.  I had bought one either on eBay or Etsy a few weeks ago but the buyer dropped the deal before it was shipped.  Got my refund but would rather have gotten the fan.

If any of you have one or know of one for sale, I would appreciate being informed about it so I could try to buy it.

I will thank you in advance for any help you might provide.

Loy Abshier
