I loaned out my 77648 to my dad, a firefighter, who used it at the fire station for 8-10 years. At that point the fan was as found, completely untouched. Not even lubed. It’s been on in the bedroom for almost the entire time with little to no maintenance. Amazing! Recently the pivot point at the base seized up and it kept running through that, wallowing out the adjustable oscillator cam without damaging anything else.  Everything else, gearbox included, is entirely fine. I have no idea how long it ran in this state. A while, I would imagine. Figured you all would find this interesting. Anyone seen a seized oscillator pivot?

Andrew it was great to meet you this weekend! Pivot siezing doesn't happen often, but does happen. Seems to normally be in the newer Emersons. Put a little grease in there & it will run non-stop for another 10 years.
