GE made 6 blade desk fans 1894-1898 then 1915 through 1921.
Edit:  Also 6 wings from 1910 on through 1921.

I made a mistake.  GE started making 6 wing blades again for the 1910 model year on the BMY and then I think they continued offering 6 wings through 1921.   I should have known that but I don't have but one or two 6 wing GEs from that period and don't especially like the 6 wing fans compared to the 4 wings.   1899 through 1909 were 4 wing only.

Daniel,Is it just the looks of the 6 wing blade you don’t like or is a 4 blade just more efficient?  I don’t have any 6 wing and I think this one looks good.  Would this be a good project for a fairly new member?  Since the paint is not original I guess it would be ok to refinish it.

I was the one saying that I didn't care for 6 wing fans and that is for the look of them.   The blade pretty much covers up the front of the motor which I prefer to see.  6 wing fans are usually quieter running (maybe not R&M's as they used the same fast running motor (4 pole) as for their 4 blade fans) but the one Daniel is selling runs a lot quieter than a 4 wing GE.  I think most fan people prefer the 6 wing fans but I'm an odd man out I guess.
I wonder if C&C or Crocker Wheeler made a 4 wing fan if I would prefer it to their 6 wing fan but probably not.  Both of these fans run very smoothly and quietly and could be used as a daily runner if I didn't have cats in the house.
