I know this is probably a long shot but I bought this old fan and the Brass Blade is pitted and discolored badly. I have not had one I couldn't clean up but this guy is toast. I rewired the fan and put it all back together and it runs and oscillates great. I would love to put a nicely polished brass blade on it if anyone has a good one. Thanks!

Check with Will Guidry, I gave him one some time back, the pot metal had gone bad on the motor, but the blade was very good if he still has it.

Will unfortunately was not able to find the blade for the fan you gave him. Still in search if anyone might
have a brass blade for this fan. It is 3/8" shaft. Thanks!

Are you sure that blade is solid brass and not just brass plated steel? Give it the magnet check?

Good call Charlie. I just assumed it was brass but just did the magnet test and it stuck to it. I guess that explains why it looks the way it does after I cleaned it with Lysol toilet bowl cleaner and 0000 steel wool.
I restored a 5260 recently and gave it away as a wedding gift. As you can see the blade looked very similar to this one when I started but cleaned and buffed out quite nicely. Never even thought about it being brass plated  :hammer:

First indication is usually those stamped in lines in the front of the blades instead of rivets. Not all but some of the Star rite's smaller fans is also another one that does that.
