Hi! I need help assessing the stator wiring and a diagram for my GE 75425 AO. This is my first restoration and I'm nervous about screwing something up. LOL Thanks so much!!! Attached Image (viewed 282 times): Last edited on Thu Nov 18th, 2021 03:23 pm by Julie Emr |

I don't have a wiring diagram & admittedly just try all of the combinations until it runs good, pulls proper wattage, & has all three speeds. That being said, it appears you have a tiger by the tail. The wire stubs are extremely close to the laminations & adding a new headwire without shorting is going to be very tricky, even for a seasoned collector. My recommendation is take it to a fan meet or a fellow collector in your area for help.

Thank you, Stan. The wire stubs have had me very concerned. Unfortunately, I was out of town for the last fan meet. I'll see if I can find someone local to rewire it.

Check out this prior thread, 22nd post has a diagram that might be what your looking for. I’d check the electrical health first. Do you have a multi meter to check ohms. Want to make sure it’s healthy first, then if it is, I’d spray the coil good with several coats of insulating varnish. http://www.afcaforum.com/view_topic.php?id=29118&forum_id=1&jump_to=236539#p236539

Here’s another good thread with some discussion of determining what constitutes the 1, 2, and 3 headwire coming off the stator. Presuming you can stabilize those short nubs and safely attach as was noted above, the diagrams should make the rest pretty straightforward. https://www.afcaforum.com/view_topic.php?id=42129&forum_id=2&highlight=Ge+AO+wiring+diagram

Hi Dave, The stator is good, thank goodness. I sprayed it with varnish today and hope to have it rewired next week. Thanks so much for your help! Happy Thanksgiving!
