I’m gonna miss this old forum. But it’s indeed time to retire it. It was this forum that got me interested in restoring fans, and through the forum and club, I’ve met some great friends! And had some great times.
I’m happy it’ll remain as an archive of our valuable resource- restoration information.

But I’m also looking forward to a long stretch ahead with the new forum.

Cheers! It’s been a good ride.  Rest In Peace and know that we all will continue to cherish and appreciate you!

Hopefully others will share their sentiments while we can still post here.

Well said Lane. So thankful that I found this site when I was looking to get my first fan.  It’s been five years since then, just a blink of an eye, and a great avenue for learning and sharing (mostly learning for me and so grateful for all the sharing). Going to miss the familiarity of this forum, it’s just become a good space to go to each day! But the forum is only the people it’s made up of and so I’m hopeful the new home will remain as welcoming as this one has been. Goodnight ol' site.

I have enjoyed this forum quite a lot, sharing projects and learning. The new one will be equally good once everyone moves over there.

I am, however, going to sit back with a bucket of popcorn and watch the fussing and fuming ensue when all are "forced" to switch to the new forum this weekend!

Friend,
You may go, though certainly will not be forgotten. Both entertaining, and informative, my time spent with you will be well remembered!

Next time you are in the neighborhood, stop in for a cup of coffee.

For now, goodbye.

Yes, well put Lane.  I've enjoyed this site for a little over 20 years.  I've watched members with new babies that now have babies of their own.  Wow, it has gone by so quickly.
The new site is a welcome change and I am slowly learning to navigate it.

I wonder how many know what your image is.

It was a good website, Larry, Rod and others kept it going. Time to move on.

Lane summed it up so well that it's difficult to say anything more. It's been a great place to meet some pretty amazing people. Goodnight and Thanks!

So many great reads and so many new friends in my short time on this site. I've gone from tinkering with some dime store fans all the way up to restoring Emerson 6 wingers and ceiling fans. This site started an addiction for me. A new page has turned and we are onto our new site. All good things must come to an end. But I see a bright new chapter ahead on the new forum.

Time to move on.Yes, my apologies for forgetting to acknowledge the folks that started this site and kept it going long after the software became obsolete. And to all the moderators that helped and continue to help keep the conversation civil and polite. You know how passionate us fan collectors can become. Thanks guys!

I will miss it too.   I would start my morning with this website to check on new posts, old posts and what was for sale or trade.  This site would automatically appear in my inbox (have not figured out how to do that with new site) and that was a cool feature.
I agree with all that has been said.   Amen.

Glad it is being kept as this site contains the collective wisdoms of over two decades of problem solving and research.

Mel

Saying good bye to a old friend is never a easy task. So I'm gonna say goodbye with a bang!

Peace out old friend! It was a great ride while it lasted!
