Anyone have a good pic of an ECK base tag? That would be for a Ball motor/ side gear model. It should say DC on it and have a red background. The two pics that are in the Gallery are of no use!

Very much appreciate the favor.

Randy, it was a bit hard to get the tag without bad reflections. Let me know if you need more photos or info. Tag is on a 12" roundball three foot Eck.

Randy, my fan is a stationary but aren't the base tags the same?

Here are some closer photos of the tag. If you can't read the last line it says:

PAT. JUNE 27 AND SEPT. 26, 1899. FEB. 9, 1904 AND PAT APP FOR

Amazing work you do Donald.

One thing I noticed is the Sept. patent date; I'll stick by what I think I read on my tag even though it's not very easy to read. I think the date is Sept. 26, 1899.

Here's Eck's patent for Sept. 26, 1899-
http://www.google.com/patents/US633641?printsec=description&dq=eck+dynamo+june+26,+1899&ei=nPHPT67XDKbi2AXdi7zBDA#v=onepage&q=eck%20dynamo%20june%2026%2C%201899&f=false

Here's the June 27, 1899 patent on the tag-
http://www.google.com/patents?id=00BIAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=eck+june+27+1899&hl=en&sa=X&ei=rvLPT5vCIOKW2QXarc3bDA&ved=0CDkQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=eck%20june%2027%201899&f=false

Here's the Feb. 9, 1904 patent on the motor tag-
http://www.google.com/patents?id=6xItAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA3&dq=eck+feb.+4+1904&hl=en&sa=X&ei=NPPPT_GVNIqiiAfnhpTsCw&ved=0CD8Q6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=eck%20feb.%204%201904&f=false

Another Feb. 9 1904 patent for the neck adjustment on their fan motors-
http://www.google.com/patents?id=7BItAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA2&dq=eck+feb.+4+1904&hl=en&sa=X&ei=NPPPT_GVNIqiiAfnhpTsCw&ved=0CDkQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=eck%20feb.%204%201904&f=false

There IS a difference in the tags: For non-oscillators it says "Universal Fan".
For oscillating fans it says just that: "Oscillating Fan".
The American versions say "Hurricane" while the South/Central American versions will say "Tigre oscillating fan". Both American and S. American can also say "Universal Fan" if stationary.

All my Eck knowledge in a nutshell!!!

Thanks for pointing that out Fred. My fan is a stationary. Here's a badge from an oscillating AC ECK. There were variations in what was on the tag over the years.

Isn't Randy's fan an oscillator? If so the tag for those would say OSCILLATING instead of UNIVERSAL.

You're welcome Don. I learned something from this exercise but probably not as much as you did with your nice work.

Will you post a photo of the completed red oscillator tag please?

Yes, my blue OSCILLATING and UNIVERSAL and red UNIVERSAL all measure 2-17/32 x 7/8" measured around the curve. All three tags are the same size.

Don, hère are a few more tag variations for your files. The ones I have are the BB/BC versions.

Below is a wrapped steel cage, Ming blade 16" oscillator. Different patent dates and now it has a "Model".
