Pictured below is a replacement gear box I have for a 12" Graybar fan, which is basically a rebadged GE. Unfortunately the original gear box on the Graybar was broken due to being made of our favorite pot metal material. This replacement one is pot metal as well. In the picture below my finger is pointing to an undrilled oiler hole. The original gear box on this fan had an oiler in that spot. So I am looking for a replacement gear box with the oiler hole there. I know as soon as I try and pop off the pressed on bell portion so I can drill out the hole and tap it for an oiler that the pot metal will just crumble. I'm hoping to find one from a GE fan that is not made of pot metal and has the oiler hole already there. Please PM me if you have one your willing to part with. Thanks

Yuup that's the one. I'm finally getting around to it. The cage and blades are just about done.

So I finally see this part I need on an Ebay Graybar fan. Nobody purchased the fan so after the auction I contacted the seller and asked if she would sell me just the motor portion of the fan which had the gear box I needed. She agreed to do so for 40 bucks shipped. Im stoked, finally found the gear box I needed. So her package gets delivered today and I pick it up off my porch and it weigh's nothing. This box should weigh atleast ten pounds what the heck is going on. The back of the box has a received unsealed sticker on it. The package opened up during shipping and dumped the motor with my gear box right out the box. USPS sealed it back up and sent it to me empty. Im starting to think this fan is cursed. Just another wonderful Ebay/USPS shipping experience. If anyone else has a gear box please let me know. Tks.

Is that a replacement badge vinyl decal? Or did you paint that thing? It looks amazing man, great, great job.

Mike Mirin will probably have one. I had to buy one from him a while back and it came looking great. I put my lid on it since mine had a brass knob, so I might have a lid with a chrome knob that might help you and some oilers. Let me know if so.

Unfortunately covers is something I have a surplus of. I just need the gear box with the oiler in it. In reference to the cage badge, The Great Tag and Badge Wizard Donald Coleman did this one. He is the man when it comes to this stuff. Excellent work

Chris, I have a 16" vortalex parts fan that I'd take the oscillator off of. I would have to look if it has the oiler, but I'm pretty sure it's a pot metal gearbox. If you're interested even though it's pot metal, let me know and I'll see if it has oiler.

That one has some damage. I have a replacement bell for it but taking it off and swapping it out would certainly destroy the rest of the pot metal. Thanks though

Yes those things swell and they are on there like glue. I ruined mine just trying to remove it from the housing. Took the three screws out from inside the stamped steel stator housing and it still wouldn't budge. I hate, hate, hate pot metal. I feel for you man.

You need to be very careful taking these off. I heated up the area inside the motor housing and it came off pretty easy.

False alarm, sorry. Mine doesn't have an oiler. But it seems to be in good shape. Let me know if interested.
