Just asking - any of you hardcore collectors have any spare parts for Luminaire fans. Not looking for a handout, willing to buy and pay shipping ... need crest ... need coil cover for the taller version, seems to be a difference there ... need small knobs that turn on the fan and lights, maybe they are called switches ... need some washers and rubber grommet that is at the base of the fan where the cord exits ... that about covers it ... some of you may be amused by my lack of proper terminology, oh well ... Thanks for anyone's help or suggestions ... Ben.  :D:D:D

I do not know if there are limited luminaire collectors, which either speaks to its desirability or lack of ... or if just too few examples available ... if anyone knows someone or has suggestions, please pass along this info to yours truly ... Greatly appreciated ... Ben.

It's me again ... needy fellow that I am ... just hoping someone might have a "parts" fan or know of a source for all things luminaire ... maybe a machinist or electrician might have suggestions, based on my stated needs when I started this thread ... Thanks so much, Ben.    :light::light::light:

Hi, I have some parts but I don't have anything you listed.  About a year ago I bought three luminaire parts fans but have been selling them off on eBay.  They were broken, missing motors, switches and such.  Wish I could help!  Mark

Thanks anyway ... I have been considering purchasing a luminaire that is mostly complete, missing a crest, and the finish is rough and most likely not salvageable, for the parts I need ... or maybe just to play with, meaning taking it apart, learning more about luminaires, and attempting to put it back together ... only problem is that it is not cheap ... maybe I eventually become the "parts" guy for luminaires ... I appreciate your response and for reading the thread ... Ben.

Still looking for spare original parts ... Got some help from Chad Baker and Kim Frank, thanks guys, also Darryl Hudson is helping me with fine tuning a coil cover ... any others who may have missed this earlier thread that might have what I am looking for, would appreciate any and all help and advice ... Thanks, Ben.

I think someone could make a decent amount of money casting some of these commonly missing parts, such as the crown. Problem would be getting all the fine details. I want a Luminair someday, but they are rarely in complete/intact condition. Good luck on your quest! :D

Chiming in with a want -- the breeze spreader assembly (the ring and attached vanes), in good condition.

You might have luck sending a picture to every funeral home in your state and asking. I bet there are hundreds tucked away in morticians' attics.  They basically can't be shipped without destroying them, so picking up in person is the way to go.

Craig ... saw that one as well ... I call it "frankenstein", no way an original but I could be wrong ... Again, thanks for keeping me in mind when you see something applicable to luminaires ... Ben.

Also, if any one has any thoughts or ideas on how to get a luminaire from Arizona to NC without destroying it, please advise ... I am open to suggestions ... Thanks, Ben.

Do you have a full tank of gas, a credit card and a week off?  It would be an interesting drive with a Luminaire bundled up in bubble wrap in your back seat.

Maybe someone is taking that drive and can move it for you.  I live in SC and a friend drove a ceiling fan to Oklahoma for me.

To ship it, I think you would want to take it apart into subsections, pack each well, ship, and pray.

David ... All so true ... Did pay a hauler one time to deliver one for me ... turned out well ... a little expensive ... didn't have to travel that far though ... that fan on ebay does look to be in pretty good condition ... Appreciate your thoughts ... Ben.

The Florida craigslist ad needs better closeup pictures of the rear of the fan behind the motor. There's no way to tell if there's damage or how bad it is.Just my .02.

Still trying to locate parts as well as fans ... Anyone with an incredible example, like George, would sure like an opportunity to buy ... I am obviously on the east coast, and willing to drive a reasonable amount of miles, but west coast is not a possibility, though there is one in Arizona right now that looks good, probably can be bought right ... Check out ebay ... It goes off in 3 days I believe ... Ben.

Carlton, also, has a fine, fine example ... just not willing to part with it ... Hopefully, the key word is "now" ... Persistent and "pain" are two words that describe me well ... LOL ... Ben.

Considering their fragile make-up ... do any members take and sell these at the fan meets ... or are luminaires just too prone to damage that you see very few?

Along these same lines, does anyone visit Brimfield in May, or other large markets ... and do the dealers still offer luminaires for sale? ... Like Scott's in Atlanta, or the large flea market in Texas, any luck with any fans there?
