Friends: As a favor to Ernest Anastasi who gave his contact information below I post this fan which is for sale for $250. Ernest's contact information follows below: My contact is 301-404-8907 PayPal address is anastasi_ernest@yahoo.com    I was talking to Ernest on line (on another fan that he had on FB Marketplace and he mentioned this fan was for sale. I don't think that he has listed it on marketplace. It's an interesting fan. Don't see too many of these.

Emerson made special order for Cutler as the fans to the best of my knowledge being a phase shift motor have coil in the base specifically to start the fan rolling. I am not aware of any examples with speed adjustment. Just a fan motor used for drying wood.

Emerson advertised carry handles in 17, but it appears brass and brass was still the in thing in 17. Your fan dates 18, and there may be a possibility they may of made them for Cutler in 19? All you need is a 16" step up base with 3 speed transformer and you have a 19648 desk fan.

I've had 2 of them over all my years of collecting fans and both had the standard cone base single speed and no adjustment to the head to tip it up or down. They were a fixed position fan. That one almost looks like it has a ceiling fan base on it or something that would hang upside down. Maybe special or a marriage of parts over the years who knows. Not really a household fan by any means. They would blow your hat of at 40' away.

tag looks like 19648 - - 110 volts, 60 cycles, and a (Later??) switch added to the baseplus a yoke mount VS me Candlestick?? Base weird

Not me but I have a step base yoke mount 19648 with cast hub, brass cage ,Emerson logo , and switch in the base with that wide Cutler Dry Kiln tag on the motor with no handle added.

Hi Steve. I imagine you would need a variable frequency drive to run a fan at half the cycles of house current (which is 60 cycles). I’m still looking for a VFD so I can run my 133 cycle fan

Well This Cutler Dry Kiln Company was in Buffalo, New York which is near Niagra Falls, New York and Niagra Falls used to be used to generate electricity back in the day and if I remember right the Niagra Falls Hydroelectric Power Station was 25 Cycles AC (both on the US and Canada Side) which is why there would of been 25 Cycle fans made. In fact the Canadian side of the Niagra Falls Power Station was still 25 Cycles clear up into the 1960s before they finally converted it to 60 Cycles which we had done about 40 years earlier. That's why Canadian Radios and TVs from that part of Canada had huge 25 Cycle transformers in them clear up until the 1960s because Canada still had 25 Cycle electricity from Niagra Falls up to that point.
