The 73548 is just a 50 cycle 73648. I don't know if the electrical parts are compatible though. If the middle digit is 6, the fan runs on 60 cycles. If 5, then 50 cycles. If 0, the fan is DC and doesn't have cycles.

That is some science beyond me - - The only Odd cycle Emerson I have is a Cutler Desk model - - 25 cycles

I don't know what middle digit that would have; maybe a 2 or 3? It might be from the period before Emerson started using that code.

Ok, I just checked the Emerson research project in the info section and here's what I found. Middle digits: 2 = 25 cycles 5 (this wasn't on the research page; I base it on my personal findings) = 50 cycles 6 = 60 cycles 9 = 133 cycles 0 = DC Your Cutler fan should have a 2 if it is new enough for the decoding system.
