I was trying to find the nameplate current rating on the new Lau 20" box fan that I got. I cannot find it anywhere. The motor appears to be a FASCO. I'm getting a reading of close to 2.9~2.8 amps on high, and 2.4 on low. Wasn't sure if anyone has a similar Lau that knows the current draw.

Thanks Tom! I'm getting pretty close to that so it should be good.

I think you are right on. I still don't have low speed on the Lakewood (but the wiring is safe now) sigh, apart it comes again!

That's really a shame it's giving so much trouble. The rest of the fan was in pretty good shape. Do you think the insulation was dry-rotted?

notorious for crumbling wiring, I had a neighbor give me a 3 speed box fan with single direction same motor and same issue. from  motor to switch completely shot... this is normal. I have had others too. I will get it going. the motor is so clean and the fan is lovely, but certain kinds of wiring does this, RM Hunter from the 60s also does this. just crumbles to nothing
