I am new to collecting vintage fans but I have a couple that I picked with other stuff. I have been able to get the others working and cleaned up. Both were Eskimos. I got another one yesterday, a big floor model, all original but not working. $150. Not worried about how good I did on price because I don't re-sell. I restore and keep. I was able to identify it as a 1937 Emerson 24 inch floor model. Very cool and well built. I have disassembled and found all internal wiring to be in bad shape, broken, which explains why it isn't working. Does the motor slide out of the housing? It looks like there are 4 rivets(?), two front and two rear securing the outside of the motor to the motor cover(?). I see no way to remove except grinding or drilling. Is that right and once those are removed will it slide out? I want to have the motor re-wired.

Wish I had taken pictures before I disassembled. I am starting to think the best thing for me is to send all of the motor parts to someone to rewind and reassemble. I can handle all of the paint and chrome. Attached Image (viewed 688 times):
