On ebay right now there is a Frigid Eagle Aire box fan, but on the label it reads Eagle Aire-Knapp Monarch Company. I know Hoover bought Knapp Monarch. So did Frigid buy the Knapp Monarch brand from Hoover at some point? I didn't know the two were ever related.

FRIGID DID SELL REBADGED PRODUCTS FROM OTHER COMPANIES FOR THEIR PROMOTIONAL FANS, IN 1977-78 I SOLD A TON OF LAKEWOOD 5 BLADE BOX FANS WITH THE FRIGID LABEL, AND NO OTHER DIFFERENCE ...THE EAGLE AIRES CAME IN THE EARLY 1980S AND MANY HAD THE LAKEWOOD BLADE. I HAVE ONE LIKE THE ONE IN THIS EBAY AD, WITH A DARK BROWN LAKEWOOD BLADE  AND NO REFERENCE TO KNAPP MONARCH ON IT AT ALL ... I THINK THIS ANOTHER PURCHASE OF A PRODUCT AND RE BADGE.
IN THE MID TO LATE 1980S ROBESON AND FRIGID MERGED AND ROBESON BOX FANS TENDED TO BE REBADGED LAKEWOODS.  HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I think there was even a GE branded Frigid with the fancy plastic grilles with squares, and a brown Lakewood 2nd gen plastic blade, handle and knob. Probably sold in the early 1980s before GE had sold its small appliances to Black and Decker.

Hoover did buy the Knapp Monarch Company in 1969, some KM fans were branded as Hoover or NESCO during the 70s. I never heard what became of the Knapp Monarch name but it looks like as you thought it might be that Frigid purchased the name at some point.

THE KNAPP MONARCH NAME IS STILL OUT THERE ON SOME SMALL APPLIANCES THROUGH VERMONT-COUNTRY-STORE WEBSITE AND CATALOGUE, BUT NO FANS

Interesting that Vermont Country Store is still using that name! I wonder how they ended up with it?
