 Usually the star on top of the gearbox will unscrew from the shaft.....So you can remove the top lid of the gearbox.
In my experience the shaft is press fit into the oscillator wheel and through the bottom of the gearbox. Normally it doesn't come out very easily.
Your stripped gear normally slides off of the top of that shaft after the top star is unscrewed and the lid is removed.
