He used that great spongy closed cell foam, a "log" of rolled bubble wrap as I had suggested to her ("her" husband did the packing as he does on hard to pack items she said), and a good, sturdy, new box. Here is after the typewriter was removed and the case lifted off. For more info on packing you can look at my packing and shipping a fan with blade and cage on. I do NOT recommend that ebay sellers try this due to the complexity and room for error.
