Hi Tom, that's a shame about the wiring. Rewiring isn't much fun but the results are always a good thing. I'd love to see a picture or video of it running in your window!

I looked at the Lakewood last night to see why the switch was sideways, actually it was just the label and the knob (the fan might have been mounted vertically at one point, but sure enough the wiring crumbled from switch to motor so that will get redone Saturday morning and in the window it goes, with good oil too.
