Bear with me, got a bit more to do. There should be a ball bearing riding in a hardened steel cup. John will get some oil-hardening drill rod tomorrow. The cups will be heat treated to withstand wear from the ball bearing. We are thinking we should drill the hole a few thou. deep, and send shims in case these old fans vary. He has a shim punch and can crank them out no problem.
