I have always loved old fans and wanted to find one to fix up.. I found one today and bought it.. It seems to be in really good condition.. The fan runs fine and oscilates great, but I took the base apart and found that the transformor frame is crumbling and im afraid to use it.. It seems like the transformer frame holder is made of bake-lite. Is this hard to find? Here is the info I have from the plate on the fan. It is a GE cat 75425 spec 272620 no ab45600

Chris, what is the FORM letter on the base tag? That will determine the year so we know which variation of the fan you have.

Thank you for your help.. The form letter is blank on the plate. the fan is 20" tall the cage is 18" the cat is 75425 spec 272620-1 no ab45600 on the transformer is the numbers 321 on one side of the screw and 967 on the other side.. Thanx again for all your help.. im going to post pics in a few mins

Chris, You may just want to try to salvage the switch base by gluing or some other means because to be frank with you the switch will probably end up costing you more then the fan is worth. Besides, "If it aint broke, Don't fix it." Just make sure when repairing the switch that none of the wires or contacts ground out on the base plate and it'll be fine I'm sure.
