William, you are right about values. I'm sure that I have paid a very high price for a few fans that I really wanted AND someone else wanted them almost as badly. In most cases I don't regret paying over "market" for certain machines. It's somewhat offset by good deals on other fans.

Now that you are getting a nice antique mechanical item from the US how about shipping an old British mechanical item back to the US as a form of Trade Balance. I think a decent, not too perfect, C-Jag would do. If you ship it to me I'll pay the shipping plus pay for your pancake. If that's not possible a Morgan trike or Velocette will be good.

Don't forget the speed coil brackets you need when you are gathering parts to finish your new cake. I, too, am very fond of the 16" stick pancake.

You know even the replica C-types are going for crazy money these days.
Look out in the coming weeks, I will be selling some British fans here.
Nothing too rare, and too new (1920's) for my collection

Just got me one on ebay #140467063692.  Will learn to love it until I get a trunnion that is fully ribbed.

If you want to buy pancakes or any other type of fans I would plan on attending Fan Fair next August 3 thru 6 in Overland Park Kansas. I am sure the there will losts of pancakes for sale and just about any other type of fan. There will be 100's of fans for sale, plus seminars on how to repair them and many experts who are willing to share advise on restoration and repair.

I would love to.  But for now, I'm tethered to my job.  If they have one in summer, I will most likely attend.

Just got this on Ebay 290564922655.  Finally a fully ribbed trunion pancake.

Please post comments...yes I know I most probably overpaid a bit and could have gotten a deal at one of the meets.

That's a nice fan.....you couldn't have done better. It's been Jeterized, we went thru it at Aiken for fine tuning, and it has an interesting back story to boot.  Congrats.....good things come to those who wait.
