I know this is a long shot, but I need a blade, cage, one strut and the bottom plate for this little fan.  Thanks for any help.

Doug

These fans really are quite scarce.  I ended up with four of the S1 oscillator only because Bill Voigt liked Centurys and had collected and kept the four.  He did not have the non-oscillator however and was always trying to get me to trade my non-osc. for one of his oscillators.

Doug, I brought my S-1 oscillators home to check them out last week and will be doing so this week I hope.  I might find that one is non-operable and could part if out.   I'll try to remember your thread here and will let you know about parts.  I just don't want to part out a good fan with no issues.

Steve, I am trying not to hope that you have one that has issues, but it's difficult :D.  Seriously, I appreciate what you are saying and thank you.

Still looking for a bottom base plate for this little fan.  And a public thank you to Mark Neeley for sending me an excellent blade, cage and struts.

Turns out the struts Mark Neeley so generously sent me were not correct for this fan.  So I still need ONE STRUT and a BASE PLATE.  The base measures 5 7/8 inches.

Thanks,  Doug

I might not have searched enough but not able to find much out about it. It does not have a slide switch just plug it in and it's on.  ?

Richard,

I have six 9" or 10" Century fans and all of mine have switches. does your base not have a cutout for a switch? What model is it? I can't read the tag.

Side note: All of my 9" or 10" fans that lack the handle on top are of the brass cage variety. That might not be true of all of them but is true for the ones I have. I can't tell from the pics if yours has the rivet holes for a handle or not.

l think this is the fan Doug is looking for parts for, a BB/BC model with stamped steel motor and base but pot metal osc. gearbox.   I had four from Bill Voigt's collection, all sold in the last two years.   I have a stationary model I would sell but the price is high because it cost me a lot and is rarer then the oscillating model.  For a non-5 speed Century these are pretty nice little fans.

Steve,

I remember that one you sold 3-4 months ago. It was super clean.

Look back at my reply to Richard's original post- your post supports my assumptions/observations.
1- I've never seen an 8 or 9 inch century without a base mounted switch (although there's a lot of stuff I haven't seen, there may be one I am just not aware of it).
2- All of the 8-9" Centuries I have owned that lacked a top handle were of the BB/BC variety.

Your photos meet both criteria. Richard is trying to ID or find info on a fan that meets neither. I do not want to be the bearer of bad news but it seems like that may be a base from another fan.

If that proves to be the case, that's the best bad news you can get. The gear housings of a lot of these small fans contained a lot of pot metal, seems like there is a broken one listed on eBay every day. I think if you drive through the Midwest at night with your window rolled down someone would throw one through your window. If someone more knowledgeable than I will confirm that you don't have the correct base I am pretty sure that I have one that I can send you for the cost of shipping.

Weren't there some 9" Centurys made with steel cage after the brass cage models?  If so that may be what  Richard has and I never paid any attention to most non-5 speed Centuries so I just don't know a thing about them.  All I hear is "pot metal" when I think of the later Centurys.

Oh yeah. Way more 9" and 10" steel cages are out there than brass ones. That's what Richard has. Some of the brass ones were painted black though so you have to look close. If you can find the brass "coupling" crimp sleeve you know what you have. All of the steel cages (that I have seen) were welded not crimped.
