This fan is in great condition. It has no cracks in the brass housing, unlike most.  It could stand to be polished/blued again. It has reproduction cloth cord but it's a hack job wiring just to verify it runs. It runs great but I'm not getting speed 2 for some reason (wiring?).  It may need oiled or possibly new Bearings in the future. It is 100% complete and uncommon.
I am asking $300 shipped.
SOLD

Yes I believe so James, I was told it was original and is steel because the fan would have been blued originally so it wouldn't have mattered wrather or not it was steel.

The AB would be all brass unless this is a late model where they mixed steel with brass? Or rear cover cracked and a 8 in housing from another fan was added.

I wish I could find the post where several others said their's has a steel cover as well. Oh well... you'll have to take my word on it.

I bought this fan and it arrived w/ a creased blade and broken cage. Luke says he forgot to mention the bent blade and that the cage wasn't broken. Really? I asked for a refund he denied and said it was an easy fix. When I asked him to fix it be said he could not. I guess the fix isn't that easy. All I want is to return this misrepresented fan and a refund. Doesn't seem to be a stand up member. Caveat emptor.

Luke, as a member of the AFCA you need to explain your position on this site to justify why you are stiffing another member. This fan association does not appreciate another member not standing by what they sell.

I sold the fan to Earl and in the description was honest, stated bearing wear and the fan not working on medium, wiring ect. Not once was Earl ignored by me, when I was informed there was a problem, (cage broken which was not before shipping) and blade creased (I neglected to mention that, never really bothered me and it just slipped my mind)..... I immediately offered to refund $50 before he even asked....... (all it should take to have a member flatten the creased wing (hub is fine). Since the cage was broken in transit I asked for a picture from Earl to file a claim with USPS. No picture was sent to me and Earl asked me to fix the blade for him (I do not have the tools), I told him someone could do it for him ($50 refund). He then proceeds to tell me rather that is absolutely unacceptable and he wishes to get a full refund.
It is shocking that one would think I (a 15 year old member with over 2000 posts contributing to this great site) would  be labeled as trying to"stiff" anyone. I have sold many a fan without problem.
I will continue working with Tony if he really wants to send this uncommon fan back for a creased blade (which was not mentioned by me), again this is honesty.... if I was stiffing anyone I wouldn't be sharing my concern with the buyer and the club.
Thank you for your concern. The fan will likely be for sale again with the creased blade mentioned.

There is nothing to "justify" if you are stiffing someone. Truly shocked I would be labeled as someone who would do that.

Earl, I offered you $50 the instant you expressed your complaint about the blade, and before asked for a refund. I responded to every PM and would have responded sooner to the most recent had I not noticed it at 11PM last night and had I not had school today.

Luke,As a member who has been truly stiffed by someone who is not a member I am ultra sensitive about buyers and sellers doing the right thing. I only heard one side of the story and wanted you to respond to Earl who obviously is not happy. You have, and are going to make him happy and I appreciate that. Didn't mean to offend you.

It'd be nice to see pics of the damage. There's several members here that can fix your problem, including me. It wouldn't be a problem to roll out that wing..... I would say $50 more than covers it. The cage on the other hand.... Gotta see a pic :D. I've bought fans from Luke and have always been satisfied. There's a simple fix for this......

It's hard to please everyone.

Would be wise for these two members to take this off-line and work it out by telephone.  If there is a sticking point, there is an assigned AFCA director who moderates member disputes about such matters.

Luke,  That is good advise from Will.  Take your issues off line. In my experience, it is better to just issue a full refund and move on. I know you are a trustworthy member.  I met you at FF2013.  You bought a fan from me there.  Just a word of advice, I would not push the $50 repair issue with your buyer.  Once he decided he wanted a refund, just give it to him and take the fan back, make repairs and move on. Doing that is better in the long run than an argument, and he will be happy.  Some people are not into getting people to make repairs on their fans.  Some just want a good fan to start.

Good for working with the buyer Luke, stand up member!!  You will never please everybody, it's near impossible if at all.  Hope you two work things out.  Some people like fixing fans and others like buying a fan in great working order at time of sale.  Hope everything works out for the best

Not necessary! I've spoken with him and he's gonna fix the cage himself and send the blade to me to be fixed. I'm charging him $900 though. Haha!
