Oddly enough, we had to drive pretty far into Pennsylvania before we found hotels with vacancy. There was nothing within a 60-100 mile radius around Allentown. There must have been some kind of large tourist event

Thanks again for all of your hospitality and putting on such a great fan meet. I'm sure it's a lot of work and time. I really enjoyed seeing all of your fans. We get into the same kind of stuff. I still have that beautiful American Coolair fan in the trunk of my car. I'm giving my back a brief break before I bring it into the house. I may put an extra mesh guard around the back of the fan and attach it with small magnets to make it "cat proof."

You probably couldn't find a hotel there because das awkscht fescht was going on in the neighboring town of Macungie Pa which is a really large antique car show.

you know what they say about curiosity and cats!. glad you got home ok. I looked at the Lakewood last night to see why the switch was sideways, actually it was just the label and the knob (the fan might have been mounted vertically at one point, but sure enough the wiring crumbled from switch to motor so that will get redone Saturday morning and in the window it goes, with good oil too. Enjoy your new finds and thanks for coming! tom

I entered my Buick into Das Awkscht Fescht on Friday and spent the entire day there. In short...it's huge.

Hi Tom, that's a shame about the wiring. Rewiring isn't much fun but the results are always a good thing. I'd love to see a picture or video of it running in your window!

Well that explains it. I've never had a situation where I have driven for over an hour without finding a vacancy. Ray and I finally found something by 2 a.m.
