Hello everyone! First of all, thanks to all who've responded for the meet. So far the count is 29, which is higher than last year's replies. Last year we had 35 attendees and given the RSVPs, I expect this year to be bigger! It seems that Irma at this point is going to stay west, and any remnants that we will see, will be mid-week. Thankfully it should all be through well before the meet. Stay tuned to this thread for any additional details or if the weather should change. Please read the details below for the meet if you are coming. - Unloading/ Parking- when you arrive, our driveway will be open so that you can back up fairly close to the yard to unload. I'd ask you to be courteous to others that also have to unload/ load and as soon as you've dropped off your fans, please move your car so others can unload. Please save your greetings with everyone until after you've moved your car. There will be no permanent parking in the driveway. As we live in a residential neighborhood, also please be respectful of our neighbors' properties when you park. - Food- we will have plenty of good food, but if you have dietary restrictions, we'd suggest that you bring something that fits your needs. As always, side dishes or desserts are always very much appreciated and enjoyed, so bring one if you have a favorite that you'd like to share. -Smoking- we are a no smoking household, and we'd ask that you refrain from smoking in our home or yard. There will be a smoking area, just outside of the fan meet area if you have the urge. - Open House- as part of the meet, we will open our house so you can look at our collection of fans. Please feel free to wander around in any rooms that are open, including bedrooms. Closed rooms are not part of the open house. We'd ask that you don't touch any brass, as most of our brass is uncoated and it'll tarnish where you touch it. We'll have a flier posted showing where the fans are located. - Friday evening- thankfully we will have some folks coming early in the day Friday to help set up the event and if you'd like to help, please feel free to come early, but Friday is strictly for setup only. The trading and selling will be on Saturday. You're welcome to place your fans on a table if you have a tarp to cover them overnight. The gates will be locked overnight, but security cannot be guaranteed. If you'd like to come and socialize, please arrive after 5pm. Whew, I think that covers everything! We're very excited and it'll be great to see our fan family again. I'm very happy that we have a very close group of friends here in the Northeast that just happen to love fans. Oh, and guests- please feel free to attend! If you've been an AFCA lurker, now's your chance to see what this is all about and get some great deals on fans from trustworthy members. Just let me know you're coming. See you all soon! Lane and Jeanie

A quick update: Over 35 have RSVP'ed so far, with quite a few guests and first-timers. It's gonna be quite the event! OTR Wire- Jacob from OTR will be arriving around lunchtime, and will have a selection of their great headwires with him for purchase at the meet. If you intend to order bulk quantities, please contact them with a preorder so they have enough quantity with them. The menu! - this year's menu will have an Oktoberfest/Fall theme- Sausages with sauerkraut and warm German red cabbage ( The house smells heavenly when we cook the spiced cabbage) and hot dogs served from a 1940's Hot Dog Steamer (Think hot dog cart steamed dogs and buns.) . Jeanie will also be making her nearly famous mac and cheese. We'll also have a salad for those of you watching your weight, but personally, I'll be heading for the Sausages and Mac and Cheese. Plus lots more. Many attendees will be bringing side dishes and desserts, so get ready for some great family favorites! Please let us know if you're bringing something that must be kept warm/ cool. For the early arrivers on Saturday, we'll have an abundance of coffee and a selection of donuts and bagels. Until Saturday, Lane and Jeanie

Good morning everyone! If you're reading this at 5:30 am, it means you were too excited to sleep and woke up early. ITS FAN MEET DAY!! Woohoo!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Yesterday was a LONG one, being setup day, but thankfully we had some helpers, especially Jason Neill, who dedicated nearly his whole day to get things in order. THANKS MY FRIEND! Following setup we had a nice get together, enjoyed some good fan talk, and a fan or 2 might have already swapped owners. The helpers dropped off some fans for sale, and already there are probably 100 fans here. And there are some great bargains! When the gates open at 8, there'll be hot coffee and when Jason arrives, he's bringing pastries from the famous Conshohocken Bakery. Yum! Chris Harding has graciously "volunteered" to be the event photographer and to write the event article, so be sure to give him a smile! Thanks Chris! As a famous comedian once said " It's gonna be a good day, tater! " Till later everyone!

Good morning everyone. For anyone looking for Robbie's video link, the post has been deleted as well as the referenced video. It was removed because it contained footage of the inside of our home. We opened our home so that everyone attending could take a look at our fans, with the one condition that pics or video of the INSIDE of our home not be posted on the internet/ social media. This was done by signs and an announcement. All we asked for was that anybody taking pictures respect our privacy. Apparently that wasn't a clear enough message, so I'll redefine it. please don't post or share pictures of our home anywhere. If you took pics or video, they are approved for your viewing only. Only Chris Harding has permission to share pics for the purpose of the magazine article he is kind enough to write. It's ok to post pics of the fans outside and that was always OK. Given this situation, Jeanie and I considered not hosting an event next year, but have decided to proceed with the planning with one change- there will be no pictures allowed inside our home going forward. I hope that others who took pictures of our collection will exercise proper judgement so that the event can continue in the future. Thanks for your understanding.
