Hello all, I am looking for a working or broken Emerson B-Jr or similar looking as the one below it would be nice if it would have goldish blades but apart from that I am looking forward to any offers close to the one thanks a lot an

just an update: it doesnt has to be the 'Junior' version. I think there is also a regular Emerson which kinda looks like on the photo but with goldish blades looking forward to your offers

The fan shown only came with steel black blades I believe, and earlier Jr's had gold paint on steel

thank you Steven. that comes close (especially because of the blades) is there also one with 8 spokes in front of the blades? I only have seen some with 4 (as in your example) or 6 (as in my top example). is there such as thing like a Emerson Jr with 8 spokes and golden blades (real brass maybe)? Thanks in advance

Juniors wee made for years & there were many variations, came in 8-9-10 in sizes. Stationary & Oscillating. Recently brass blades have been made

interesting and thanks for your offer Steven! however the first two from the left have only 4 spokes (I hope that is the correct term). I mean these black curved metals at the case of fan in front of the blades. thanks. a combination would be what I am looking for: - these thinner 4 golden blades (the closest is the one on the left from the tree of yours) - 8 spokes - the badge from the middle of the three - size not sure if 10" or 12" and if possible that I can polish them that the blades and the stand become shiny again

The last 3 are all 12" Oscillators, earlier brass blades & brass cages are going to cost some bucks. 6 blades fans are "hot" right now

If that is your "dream fan" it's a good one. Also look for the older but similar 27646 and 24646 Types that are nearly identical but the 29646 was made in much larger numbers from 1922 through 1936 but brass blades were last offered in 1930 on Emerson fans. The 29646 came with the brass blades painted with gold paint but they are solid brass under the paint and can be stripped and polished out. Below are some similar models including the non-oscillator models. The last digit in the Type No. is the radius of the blade so a 6 would be 6" radius or 12" diameter. 8 would be a 16" fan, etc. The 10" Golden Jubilee is somewhat similar to the B-Jr. fans in ways and has BRONZE blades on most years but aluminum on some years. It was made from the 40s through the mid 1950s and is a single speed fan. 24645 (1917-19), 24646 (1917-18), 24648 (1917-19), 24666 (1917-18), 24668 (1917-18) Oscillator, new cone shaped base (except for 24645 which used step base with thicker bottom flange), steel cages for 1918. Change from cast hub to stamped hub blade during production. Carrying handle added to 12 and 16" fans for 1917 26645 (1920-22), 26646 (1919-22), 26648 (1919-22) Non-oscillator, modified cone base with felt base plate. Steel cages from here on forward. 27645 (1920-22), 27646 (1919-22), 27666 (1919-22), 27648 (1919-22), 27668 (1920-22) Oscillator 28645 (1922-23), 28646 (1922-1937), 28648 (1922-23) Non-oscillator 29645 (1922-25?), 29646 (1922-1936), 29666 (lg. motor)(1922 only), 29648 (1922-c.1929), 29668 (1922-at least 1926, probably through '27) Oscillator (71666 replaces 29666 in 1923)

Let me test - - the cord was broken, this is a earlier model with no capacitor, next year (1937) was the cap model.

It's a model that was two before the 29646. Good luck on your hunt. Be ready to jump if you see a fan that looks good but also be patient so you can get a fan that is good. I look for fans for me that are as unmolested as possible and don't appear to have had (needed) a lot of work done. Finally, its' up to YOU to instruct or help the seller get the fan packed knowing that fans are usually very brittle (cast iron) and easy to damage (flimsy blades and cages).

Steve makes quite a lot of good points, but first I would post an add for a brass blade 29646 here in the BST. Shipping from eBay is a risky proposition, but most members here know how to pack and would offer you a fair price. These fans are relatively common, so I'm sure someone would be willing to set you up with one. 29646's are common & come in all kinds of price ranges, brass blade models cost more - good clean examples with straight blades & good paint $200+ shipping = heavy, Rusty steel = 100 + same shipping minus small parts (oscillator linkage, etc) Full blown restorations = 300+ shipping, Just a good brass balanced blade = 150+.
