I have a 1972 Sears hassock fan with the wood grain finish. The blade is missing the hub! ![]() Attached Image (viewed 559 times):

I had two of the Fresh'nd Aire Versions of that fan at one time, I don't think I saved the blade from mine unfortunately because mine the speed coil shorted out and almost caused a fire so I scrapped it out including the blade, I do still have the motor from the fan though.

My dad bought the same fan new. Its been in the attic for about 30 years. The blade is held on by rubber like a 50s ge strap fan and his fan was in the same shape is yours. So today I took it down and I put a rubber grommet in the blade. I then used nylon spacers between the motor shaft and the rubber grommet In the blade . I put two fender washers on both sides of the blade . I then used what was left of a 10" vortalex hub to hold it together.

It's a collection of a bunch of crap but I did get it to run smoothly the 4th speed is really slow I like it.
