Russell, here is some reading about pancakes you might want to look over if getting a good pancake is important to you.  Restorations vary widely among those who claim their pancake is restored.   Don't miss the first link at the top of my blog page as Kim Frank is one of the best experts on the subject.

https://earlyfans.blogspot.com/2011/02/ge-pancake-1894-1908.html

Are you wanting a 12" or 16" fan and, for a 12" model, one with the switch in the back of the motor or in the base?

FYI, the earlier you get, the more expensive and prior to 1900, prices spike dramatically.  And yes Kim is the authority!

Steve and Lane are very knowledgeable as well, I bought several fans from Lane when I first started collecting.

Both prices on the fans by Stephen and Sean are in the right range.  You might be able to get a later version for $800-900 if you wait long enough.  EBay is not the place to find a good fan deal.  Many arrive damaged since very few ebay sellers know how to pack a fan properly.

The only people on eBay that do, are AFCA members and you can generally find the same fan for sale here in the BST column.
