While I'm debating on what style of hubs to use for my mini-lollipop projects, I thought these would be great for R&M 8" hub replacement or used on the small toy motors.  Other styles will be available, I have not picked them up yet.  I will selling 3 blade and 6 blade Porter hub versions.  The 3 blade hub will be $30 free shipping and $50 for the six blade version free shipping.  I had pictures...but they are lost in the gallery somewhere and I will need to search for them.  I did send George a sneak peak...maybe they are in his emails?  George, do you recall me sending you a sneak peak of some 3 blade and six blade hubs I was fabricating?

But for now, here is an 8" R&M hub cast in bronze will all holes filled.  Doing this so the holes can be drilled for various size toy motors.  The hub can be nickel plated if you choose to (not by me).

Please place your orders here so it does not get lost.

3 blade hubs for Porter toy motors.  These will be cast in bronze.  You will need to drill holes.  $30 free shipping.  These have already been casted, I just need to pick them up.

One more hub to add to the mix.  Lollipop hub for 12 inch blade (cost will be $80 due to amount of materials).  Now for those who would be interested in a miniature version for their small toy motors (cost will be $50).

I think I will be using this on the mini-lollipop project.  The shaft end needs to be shorten and diameter enlarge.  Will be doing that today...cutting and bondo work.  These can also be used on toy motors.  The design for this is base on the 12" lollipop hub just miniaturized.  They are the same diameter as the 8" R&M hub...wanted to find a good replacement for the mini-lollipop project.

Do the flats need machining? If so, I imagine my machinist buddy go make a jig and machine them if the demand warranted it.

No.  Just drill and rivet the blades.  Tap the side hole to screw on.  That should not be too difficult for the person doing the wings.

I got it, one of each.  I always make extra, got to throw out the faulty ones.  More clock parts?  I will be picking up the 3 and 6 wing hub...got those casted already, just need to pick them up.

I am still working on the 4 wings today.  The mini-lollipop so far is my favorite.

If you are making extra 6 wing hubs I will buy 2 of them...

None of the hubs have the holes drill...so yes, they can be used for any small motors.

Hello Louis

I would like to order:

2 3-blade hubs for Porter #3
1 lollipop hub (AC) version
1 lollipop hub (DC) version

Thanks for undertaking another project.

I have one other question related to motor tables (mentioned in your other post) ... Will the table for the Porter #2 also be sized for the base of a Porter #3?

Jeff, I'll put you down for:

two 3 blade hubs
1 12" AC lollipop hub
1 12" DC lollipop hub

As for the motor table, the dimensions for Model A and Model B are given.  I don't have a Porter No.3 to measure.  Model C will be for the Perret motor.  The approximate dimensions are given but that will change slightly thanks to Steve Cunningham.  Steve Cunningham has graciously allow George to trace the outline/contours of his Perret fan at the fan Museum.  Model C will closely match the original Perret table.

I will be designing the Lollipop hubs today for the 12"CW and CCW and miniature hub to use project today.

I'm debating about making new porter blades. The original ones was purchased awhile back. The polygon profile looks great but the arms look too "machine" from the back. I will most likely redesign the porter blade to look like the traditional rounded spokes. Either way, I will have both available.

Rob...I cast these in batches.  Once I get the molds ready and have them casted.  That is the reason for preorder, but I don't collect money till I have them on hand.  I do these in batches due to cost and time constraints of work.  So if you want, just order them and I will add them when I cast the mold.  The 12" came in DC and AC...just be careful which ones you order because the blades are either CW or CCW.

The reason I only do limiting casting is because I make the molds myself and it is time consuming. So once these are gone...I move onto another project.

I'll add you to the list of orders.  Once I get all the orders in, I will make the molds...easier to do them all at one time.

1 mini-lollipop hub
1 six blade hub
1 four blade R&M hub
1 three blade hub

Just got done fixing the image...original was taken at an angle.  Those who are interested in how these are done.  Here is the process.  Good pictures without angles.  Second, trace the outline.  Third, use measurements...preferred measurements are mm for small objects...better accuracy.  Fourth...lots and lots of pictures to give clues to profile.  I will begin tracing the outline.
