I am brand new to antique fans and being retired I am ready to learn. I am an excellent mechanic and Jack of all trades so I figure I'd give this a try.
I have an antique GE desk fan No. U70109, Cat. 49X491, Spec 272614-1 that is a 3 speed oscillating fan. It runs, the issue is when the switch is in the slow speed position after it runs for a bit, without moving the switch, it will eventually reach the fastest speed. Inside the base where the switch is, there is what looks like a transformer with three wires attached to different positions on the speed switch. I am hoping that if I can replace this transformer (or coil) that has the three different speed wires coming out of it, this will solve the issue. Do you have a replacement transformer or can you put me in contact with someone who can help me finish this restoration project? Thank you and God Bless
