  Would like to know something about this fan. Is it worth collecting?

Your fan is likely from the 1960's, but I'm not sure the entire "range" of time they were made. I think they are neat fans. Yours needs a really good cleaning. It appears the plastic has "yellowed" some, but not horribly bad. Value of any old out-of-production item is what the seller is willing to let the item go for and what the buyer is willing to pay. However, to give you an idea, I found one in pristine condition (almost as good as if it just came out of the box brand new) and I paid $40 for it. When I was in college (in the 1980s) one of my friends had one of these in her dorm room. I'm sure her parents bought it in the early days of their marriage.

I believe my parents had it in the ‘60’s. Fans weren’t cheap back then, I have a Signal box fan that my mom said my dad paid $49 for in 1955.

You are right that fans were a lot more expensive then relative to salaries. I can easily believe your parents would have paid $49 for a box fan in 1955. I also wanted to clarify.....when I said the plastic had "yellowed"......the fan was kind of cream/beige color when new. So I was certainly not implying that it should be "white" or even close to that. I think when you clean it up, it will look really nice. I hope you're planning on keeping the fan and using it.

The fan still works fine, but definitely needs a cleaning. I think my dad used to smoke in front of it, which may explain some of the brownish discoloration.
