Looking for a switch for my GE fan. First time trying to restore a fan, bought a stator earlier this year, and to get it to run bypassed the switch. My previous posts show multiple shots of the Fan.

Your best bet would be to disassemble the switch and send the coil to Rick Huckabee or Tom Newcity (members) who can rewind it for a fee.  Those switches are pretty difficult to find.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. Really looking to just buy one. This is the only fan I will restore as it has been in the family a very long time , it belonged to my father-in-law ( since pasted) I am going to give it to his son once I fix it. Just need to fix the switch, get a set screw, and figure out why the fan moves in and out on the shaft. I am just a guest not a member, so no way to contact those two gentleman. Thanks again, Mike

You need fiber washers (shims)on the shaft to take out the slack in shaft. It needs some slack. Some say 8th inch.
I like less around a 16th.But it needs some or the blade will not run free and heat expansion.Any fiber washer will work as long as the inside diameter is correct and the outside diameter is close. Some front bearings are recessed into the case so the shim has to fit in the recess.

You could use your switch or use JB weld to patch the bakelite on these.
